Wood dust tank explosion in Binh Duong: 4 workers in critical condition transferred to Ho Chi Minh City
On the evening of 6/7, Hoang Thong Wood Co., Ltd. submitted a preliminary report on the serious workplace accident at the company's branch in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Tan Binh town, Bac Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province.
According to initial information, the dust tank explosion occurred at around 2:20 p.m. that day at a branch of Hoang Thong Wood Co., Ltd., in Tan Binh town, Bac Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province.
At the time of the incident, workers were repairing and maintaining the dust tank when an explosion suddenly occurred. The blast injured 9 workers.
Immediately after the incident, the company quickly handled the situation and took the victims to Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital for emergency care. Because of their severe injuries, 4 workers were transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further monitoring and treatment.
The injured workers received first aid and emergency care at Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital
The 4 seriously injured are Le Van Phi (b. 2003), Tang So Pha (b. 1985), Danh Ngoc Quy (b. 1990), Nguyen Van Ro (b. 1979).
5 people are being treated at Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital: Phan Huy Duy (b. 1984), Phan Hoang Minh (b. 1998), Ngo Van Ai (b. 1991), Tran Pham Thi (b. 1998), Tong Tu Hai (b. 1984).
The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated by the authorities.
In response to a series of serious fires and explosions, the Binh Duong Industrial Parks Authority has asked businesses in the area to review and strictly implement occupational safety regulations as required by law.
Review the list of machinery, equipment, supplies and materials in use, and compile a list of machinery, equipment and supplies that have occupational safety requirements under regulations. Establish safe operating procedures for machinery, equipment, supplies and materials.
Regular maintenance and servicing ensure machinery and facilities remain safe for environmental protection, occupational safety and fire and explosion prevention.
The Binh Duong Industrial Parks Authority also asked businesses to organize training, outreach and updates on occupational safety knowledge for workers and managers as required by regulations.
